Who we are

Gift Picker is an Australian business trading as Gift Picker, ABN 25 462 892 916, run by the partnership L Talbot & P.M Talbot. For privacy questions, requests or complaints, contact giftpickerapp@gmail.com.

What stays on your device

Personal pickee profiles, Gift DNA, interests, important dates, hints, gift history, suggestion feedback, watch lists and purchase references are saved in this browser on your device. They are not automatically backed up or synced between devices.

Anyone with access to your unlocked device or browser may be able to see them. Clearing browser storage can remove your profiles and your saved purchase references. Keep payment receipts so you can contact us for help.

When you ask AI for ideas or a limerick

Relevant details from your saved answers are sent through Gift Picker's hosted service to Lovable AI and its model providers to create your requested ideas or poem. Gift research also uses online search, so relevant search terms may be sent to search providers.

Local storage does not mean those details never leave your device: AI requests need that information to personalise the result. Service providers may process requests and retain operational logs under their own policies. We do not promise zero retention or that every provider excludes requests from model training.

Only include information you have permission to share. Avoid medical details, financial information, passwords or other sensitive private clues. You can leave optional questions blank.

Group gifts and private links

Group gifts are stored in Lovable Cloud so invited participants can view them from their own devices. Shared information can include the pickee's name, occasion, gift options, buying links, organiser payment instructions, participant names, votes and recorded contributions.

Anyone who receives or is forwarded the private group link can access the shared gift. It is not protected by a sign-in. Keep links away from the pickee and share bank or payment details only with people you trust. Recorded contributions are not independently verified payments.

Sharing ideas and Christmas Secret Santa

Shared gift ideas and shortlists contain the gift facts you select, not your full private profile, Gift DNA, hints or gift history. Gift-idea and Christmas Secret Santa reveal links contain encoded information; encoding is not encryption. Anyone with a link can read its contents. Send each Santa reveal link privately.

Payments and shop websites

Stripe processes subscription and limerick payments. Gift Picker uses payment and subscription references to check access; it does not store your full card details in your pickee profile. Stripe handles payment information under its privacy policy.

When you follow a buying link, the retailer or experience provider handles your visit, purchase and delivery under its own policies. Any affiliate links are identified as such. Private profile details are not included in the shortlists you share.

Reminders and calendar files

Saved dates support local in-app reminders. If you export a calendar file, the included event details become available to the calendar service you import it into. A calendar download is not ongoing syncing. Where phone notifications are available and you opt in, delivery services may process a device notification token and reminder details.

Hosting, storage and service providers

Hosting, AI, search, payment and notification services may process information outside Australia. Technical information such as IP addresses, device or browser details and error logs may be processed to operate and protect the service. Browser storage remembers your app data; other services you visit may use their own cookies.

We do not sell your private pickee profiles or hints to retailers. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can edit or delete pickee profiles in the app, remove saved ideas, and manage calendar entries in your calendar. Deleting a local profile does not automatically delete an already-shared group gift, previously processed AI request, payment record or someone else's copy of a shared link.

Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of information held by the service, or to raise a complaint. We may need enough information to verify your request. Some payment, legal and security records may need to be retained. Provider retention periods vary; we do not currently promise a fixed deletion period.
